Some encounters of Human Life in Antarctica?

The British flag flies sky high in Antarctica. Not to mention the little penguins nesting just at the bottom of the flag! They seek to claim land on Antarctica, by setting up a post office there! An interesting story. In any case, we were able to send postcards from the station. The only problem, is that, for most people, they would return home before their postcards got there!

At this British base station, there was a museum, where they has been un-coverings of women around the walls! Back in the day, the women were not not allowed on Antarctica and hence the men had to feed their dosage X Chromosome by painting pictures of women!

I guess men will always be men!

After a while, it became hard to distinguish what was real and what was not. Such beauty makes one question everything.

A Zodiac explores the ice, just a little closer. The Zodiacs did some ice bashing indeed.

Imagine if the Zodiacs had eyes. This would be an average day for them!

The dark enclosure made hollow sounds of callings.

The black aura from the caves seemed evil, yet felt compelling for exploration. Knowing that mother nature could at any time send ice crashing down on those who are curious.

The Ice Continues.

Words cannot describe this peaceful beauty. One can only experience such views, and even then, comprehension is still difficult.

Every ice berg has a story, every ice berg has its personality, every ice berg has its depth.

The misty white clouds fog up the mountain top, the ice bergs float across the waters, whilst penguins nest their eggs for hatching, Antarctica at its best.

Certain beauty should only be told in the reflection of the Antarctica waters.

The snow made the journey mystical and blurred the vision of many. Creating a combination of mystery and understanding.

AnTarc 13764The snow did nothing to stop the Zodiacs from its limitless adventures.

Bowerbird Bazaar – Adelaide, Australia

A couple of weeks ago I went to a unique bazaar in Adelaide, Australia. An interesting affair with numerous amounts of creativity in their products. The theme revolved around organic produce, recycling and sustainability. It was a unique upmarket design market, where many people share their creations using their unique creativity! Although it was a small event, there were some very interesting products (and services)! From organic pies, recycled wooden and paper chairs, and even old cutlery made into cufflinks! The Bowerbird Bazaar – A MUST event! Continue reading

Cambodia Revisited – Desperation with Integrity.

Between Phnom Penh and Siam Reap Province exists Baray district in the Kampong Thom Province. A region dominated by rice making and exports, where I stayed for just over a week. I was with a group of friends doing some aid work at the time. Although ‘having an impact’ was not our main goal, we were there to assist where we could and build awareness in ourselves.

I stood readily to give out lollies from a bag I had in my hand. As I held out the lollies to the children they just stared at me and I stared back at them puzzled. Why did they not take my sweets that I was offering them? Why were they not receptive? Were they not all hungry? It just did not make any sense. Following this, the children looked at their mother(s); waiting for approval before they were allowed to take those sweets from me.
